Innovative battery changing solution for sustainable mobility
Together with Battswap, BenThor automation has implemented a revolutionary solution for electromobility: an automated battery changing system that exchanges an empty battery for a charged one in just four minutes. Compared to fast charging systems, this innovation not only protects the power grid, but also enables the use of smaller, lighter batteries. The result: more efficient vehicles with a range of 140 kilometers – ideal for all types of last-mile delivery (delivery of goods, food, etc.).
The core of the concept is the fully automated battery changing station based on a SIMATIC S7-1500 controller and a 4-axis machine for storing and charging the batteries. The charging process, route planning and live tracking of the vehicles are monitored and optimized using AI.
BenThor took over the entire automation, station operation and vehicle service. We are offering a turnkey solution that is already being successfully tested by one of Europe’s largest online food delivery services and is now being prepared for further projects.
