The Matrix Cell – a product neutral solution for a smart production

The matrix cell is a component-neutral solution in a production facility. It can process all products in a process segment and can perform for example measuring tasks or milling operation. A necessary restructuring of the production in segments brings a smooth interaction of different matrix cells, AGVs and ERP system. The matrix-cell itself is a combination of a parameterizable process software, a dynamic connection using AGVs, a component-neutral input module and a modular cell structure with the necessary process steps. With this concept the matrix cell reaches the goal of a component-neutral automation.
The matrix cell is thus a robot application with a long service life. It increases the efficiency of the individual, automated process segments, reduces energy costs with the same discharge and saves personnel costs through unmanned 24/7 production. The constant program changes of the robot and the linked process steps are made possible by the parameterizable process software. This form of control does not require manual changes of the software, since all necessary program changes or product-specific processes can be changed via the customer’s production control system or directly from the ERP’s data record.
