Conveyor belts, lifting cross units and vertical conveyors from Schnaithmann Maschinenbau GmbH are now available in the simulation software Visual Components. This means that all users of the software can now plan transfer systems with Schnaithmann components and carry out material flow simulations. This is particularly advantageous in the project planning and design phase when no detailed CAD files of the later system are yet available.
Visual Components is a software for factory and production planning that also includes a 3D simulation platform. Using the software promises increased efficiency, savings in production costs and less time spent on project planning and planning. Thanks to the extensive model library, users can choose from over 3000 components from a wide range of manufacturers and place them in the layout using drag and drop.
In collaboration with Visual Components and the system integrator Dualis GmbH, the model library was expanded to include components from Schnaithmann. This includes double-track conveyor belts with flat belts (type BS21 and BS20), with accumulation roller chains (type BS11 and BS100), with toothed belts (type BS35) and with roller chains (type BS55). Corner transfer units, so-called lifting cross units, are also available to link the conveyor belts in the transverse direction. Thanks to the Schnaithmann vertical conveyor, transfer systems can also be implemented on different transfer levels and across several floors. “The Schnaithmann components that we have implemented in Visual Components are scalable and kinematized, so that the elements can really be used for simulation and virtual commissioning,” says Thomas Wahl, project planning team leader at Schnaithmann.
